In 2001 I had the privilege of building the UltraZone guitar for Steve Vai and since then I have been wanting to let loose and build another special piece. The original idea was to build one of these fantasy guitars per year but the reality is that these guitars take a huge amount of time and the success of the regular guitars has inhibited us from fulfilling our fantasy. Finally in May we started to talk about a follow up. |

Rory McGowan joined our team early this year and right from the start he was sketching crazy guitar designs. Rory is a recent graduate from design school and joined our team to help in R&D but soon I realised there was a whole lot more to him. |

We started talking about a follow up to the UltraZone and after a few sketches we came up with this futuristic fantasy design and at once we knew we would build it. |

| The guitar was started in June with Rory working full time on it and myself over-seeing the work, getting as much hands-on as time would allow. By August it was starting to look close and was finally finished in September after at least 400 hours of hard but fulfilling work. |
